The Snow Queen, commissioned and produced by the Hippodrome Theatre, 2015
A modern retelling of the Hans Christian Anderson tale. A lonely writer haunted by the death of his wife begins a relationship with a single mother and tries to impress her daughter with fanciful stories that come to life. A Play with Songs.

"Much credit to author and director Charlie Mitchell — associate professor of theater at UF and a regular at The Hipp — for creating this fresh take on an old Hans Christian Andersen tale. Mitchell’s dialogue is crisp and witty. His songs are funny. And every one of his interwoven, “once upon a time” stories comes with a moral all its own....The Snow Queen is funny, thought provoking and even mind-bending." (The Gainesville Sun)

The Silver Coast, produced by the Boston Playwrights’ Theatre (Equity production), 1994
Set in 1920s Chicago, all the movie studios have moved to Hollywood except one where a desperate producer tries to create an epic with gangster money and a crazy German director. Comedy.
